Postgraduate study in Plymouth

The University of Plymouth includes the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry so it's not surprising that the university is well known for its more specialist research into clinical areas and health. Plymouth is located mid-way between the University of Exeter's two campuses (there's one in Exeter and another in Falmouth in Cornwall) where a wide range of courses are on offer, from Cornish studies and mining geology in Cornwall to top-rated English and drama research in Exeter.

Finding a job after postgraduate study in Plymouth

Plymouth has a 20th century look (thanks to a redesign in the 1950s after much of the city and its docks were blitzed in World War II) but an illustrious past - there have been people there for over 3000 years. The residents started out as fish traders but nowadays they're more likely to be connected to the armed forces or involved in hospitals and universities in the busy public sector.

Plymouth is just over the border from Cornwall too, and with thousands of tourists ('grockles' or 'emmets', depending on whether they're heading to Devon or Cornwall) flocking west each year, graduates with people skills are kept busy in customer-facing roles in the leisure industry.
