This will be your opportunity to talk directly to course providers and find out information that you cannot get from their brochures and websites, including advice on funding and the application process.

Here's what last year's visitors had to say:

  • "By gathering many universities, it makes it easier to enquire and compare my choices at once. It is also more convenient that travelling to individual universities."
    Wei - University of Birmingham
  • "Easy to find out general information and seminars were useful."
    Greg - University of Leicester
  • "Easy access to information that is usually difficult and frustrating to find online."
    Katie - University of Birmingham
  • "I have been looking for courses online yet I have found 3 just by coming here."
    Adam - University of Birmingham

Who: It's for you if you are:

  • A final-year student thinking about your options beyond your degree.
  • A first or second-year student thinking ahead to what you can do after your first degree.
  • A recent graduate looking to add to your skills and qualifications.
  • An experienced graduate exploring career development opportunities.
  • A professional graduate looking to go back into education.

Whatever stage you are at with your career thinking, a visit to the TARGETcourses Postgraduate Study & Funding Fair Midlands will clarify your options and help you plan your future.

Top tips for making the most of the fair

Visit targetcourses.co.uk to help you find the right postgraduate courses or institution for you. You'll also find lots of postgraduate advice, including an introduction to postgraduate study and sources of funding.

Think of all of those questions that might not be answered by reading brochures or by searching a website.

Carefully select the exhibitors and then find out what they can offer you. What kind of careers do their students go on to?

When you arrive at the fair make sure that you register, check in and pick up your FREE copy of the fair guide.

Take time to look through the guide and decide which exhibitors you would like to talk with. The table at the front of the guide provides an overview of the types of courses or opportunities offered.

Make notes so that you've got all the details you could possibly need to follow up contacts when you get home. Treat the fair as a fact-finding mission, and don't forget that this is your opportunity to ask questions. Make sure you book your slot with the funding advice exhibitors.
