Summary Information
The course places particular emphasis on economics, finance and investment and addresses those areas of real estate profession concerned with domestic and international real estate use, investment and development; graduates proceed to the RICS (Royal Institution for Chartered Surveyors) Assessment of Professional Competence and full professional membership of RICS.
Entry requirements
Lower 2nd Honours degree or above in any discipline; the University considers applicants with non-standard qualifications, particularly those with considerable practitioner experience; evidence of English language proficiency is also required: applicants whose 1st language is not English require proof of English language proficiency; students who accept an offer of a place are asked to pay a deposit (approximately 10% of the total programme fee) to secure their place; this deposit is later deducted from the tuition fees payable at registration.
Course modules
1st semester: Real estate economics; property law and institutions; valuation and finance; 2nd semester: advanced valuation and development; international real estate; real estate finance; final stage: 2 of the following 3 options (delivered in Hong Kong): development case studies; professional report; development projects; plus property case study; plus international real estate market report.
