Summary Information
Students may pursue studies for a general Master of Laws by selecting any of the approved modules and completing a dissertation in a subject of their own choice approved by the School; all students enrolled for the LLM also undertake a module in postgraduate research and study skills; the non-specialised LLM route allows students to follow any of the modules available in the year of study from the lists of the specialised LLM routes and to complete a dissertation on any legal topic approved by the Law School; the course has been designed so as to give students the greatest flexibility to pursue advanced legal study in any area that they wish.
Entry requirements
A good Honours degree in Law; applicants with other appropriate qualifications are considered; introductory classes are provided to assist students from a non-legal or non-common law background; where 1st language is not English IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in the writing element); or TOEFL 580 (paper-based); 237 (computer-based); 90 (internet-based); or equivalent are required; where English is a 1st language GCSE/O level of grade C and a certificate of proof are required.
