Summary Information
This programme is designed for non-law graduates to gain a law qualification; on completion of the course, it also enables students to progress to the solicitors' qualifying route, the Legal Practice Course (LPC), or to the barristers' qualification, the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC); on completion of this course successful students are awarded the graduate diploma in law (GDL) and the LLB (CPE); all students must begin the course with a comprehensive induction programme, allowing them student to gain an understanding of the English legal system, and introduces essential legal skills; undergraduate Staffordshire University students are entitled to a discount on the tuition fees for this course.
Entry requirements
2nd Class Honours degree; 3rd Class degree considered if applicant has relevant work experience; other entry qualifications may be applicable, e.g. ILEX (Legal Executives).
Course modules
Core modules: Induction programme; tort; contract; public law; equity and trusts; land law; crime; EC law; plus 1 form employment law; social welfare law and practice; plus a further modules of students choice.
