Cranfield's School of Applied Sciences enjoys an international reputation for inspirational teaching and research across its specialist areas of expertise in manufacturing, materials and environmental science and technology.

Through our exclusive portfolio of industrially-oriented Masters courses, research programmes and short courses, the School develops specialists in environmental sciences and management, water science, manufacturing and operations management, and materials engineering, able to meet the needs of employers, globally. 93% of Cranfield graduates are employed in relevant work, or further research, within six months of graduation.
Postgraduate study
The professionally accredited programmes within the School of Applied Sciences are developed and supported by leading organisations such as Airbus, Environment Agency, Anglian Water, Ford, the Landscape Institute, Lockheed Martin, Nissan, Rolls-Royce and Shanks Group plc. As part of your programme of study you will undertake project work, usually supported by an industry partner, enabling you to apply the skills and knowledge learnt in real situations, and providing valuable networking opportunities with potential employers.

Research
In the 2009 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), Cranfield is ranked third in the UK for the impact of its mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing research. We also received a strong result in the Agriculture Unit of Assessment with 85% of our research gaining international status.

Facilities
The School of Applied Sciences boasts a wide range of facilities and complementary equipment, much of which is unique to Cranfield, from the best equipped precision machining laboratories in Europe, to our unique off-road dynamics facility and a brand new purpose-built facility for the Centre for Creative Competitive Design (C4D).
Cranfield Manufacturing Masters Scholarship with Ford based project - up to £9k + UK fees
Available for October 2012 entry
Cranfield is offering a Manufacturing Masters scholarship with an associated Ford based project to a highly qualified, self motivated UK/EU graduate seeking to undertake a full time Masters course, selected from Cranfield University's Manufacturing Masters programme.
The scholarship offers up to £9k, dependent on qualifications and experience, plus UK fees. You will undertake your individual project, in the final four months of your chosen course, with Ford's Power Train Manufacturing Engineering Department.
