The Department offers full-time programmes of study in the key subject areas of property management, property investment and property and land appraisal, acquisition and development. Our programmes include relevant aspects of valuation, economics, law, finance and investment, sustainability, planning, management and spreadsheet skills.
The MSc Real Estate Management and MSc International Real Estate programmes are both accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). In addition, both programmes are sponsored by six of the major real estate consultancies in the UK, who provide support to the programme with external speakers, field trips and management support. These are; Cluttons, DTZ, GVA Grimley, King Sturge, Knight Frank and Savills.

Research
Our teaching is underpinned by strong research activity in the fields of property and construction in which the department has an excellent reputation for the quality of its research (RAE 2008). Our main research clusters are the Construction and Project Management Group (CPM) and Real Estate and Land Policy Group (RELP) both based within the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development (OISD). All of our academic staff are involved in academic research and/or professional/commercial consultancy work. This allows us to continuously improve our courses to be relevant to the ever-changing needs of industry and to reflect the latest thinking at the cutting-edge of innovation and practice
Facilities
The MSc Real Estate programmes benefit from their own dedicated teaching room which is used for lectures, seminars and private study. In addition, there are numerous computer rooms available for teaching and individual work. The Headington campus is currently being redeveloped and a new library and new teaching space will be added to the campus in 2011.
