University of Reading
The University of Reading is ranked as one of the UK's 10 most research-intensive universities and as one of the top 200 universities in the world.
The University began as an extension college of Christ Church, Oxford in 1892 and received a Royal Charter in 1926, the only university to do so between the two world wars. The quality and diversity of research is recognised both nationally and internationally. Reading is consistently one of the most popular higher education choices in the UK. Established as a leading force in British higher education, the University continues to build on its success.
The ICMA Centre at Henley Business School, University of Reading has an international reputation for undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education for the financial markets.
The ICMA Centre was founded in 1991 through a unique collaboration between the University of Reading and the International Capital Market Association (formally International Securities Market Association). The centre is now one of the larger specialist university finance departments in Europe. We typically have around 200 Masters students on the full-time programme and 50 on the distance learning option. Some 50 undergraduates join us annually and around 25 PhD students are currently registered for full-time study. The Centre was one of the first to be recognised as a Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) Centre of Excellence, is a CFA Program Partner, and was the first UK university to submit a qualification for recognition by the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC).
